From childhood, Catsao suspected he was the chosen one. Unlike his eight siblings, he showed little interest in playing catch-up with neighborhood mice. Instead, he preferred to spend all his free time after school with his grandfather Tiago, who served as a full-time rat catcher on the ship of the local explorer of new lands, Christopher, and often went on sea voyages with him.

Upon his return from long wanderings, Thiago, despite his fatigue, enthusiastically told Catsao about the distant uncharted shores and the strangers inhabiting them. Grandpa's stories were so captivating, that only a cup of warm milk before bed helped Catsao fall asleep...

In his colorful dreams, Catsao fearlessly fought pirates, liberated little kittens from the clutches of bloodthirsty cannibal rats, and unraveled the most challenging riddles. He could always find a way out of any situation, but... no dream could last forever, and every morning the radiant sun dispelled Catsao's dreams.

Time passed, and life took its toll, gray everyday life succeeded one another, but Catsao did not give up his dream. He made a firm promise to himself that he would certainly not only visit all the countries that his grandfather told about, but also discover new ones, that he would be the first cat who could pass through time, although this seemed impossible at that time. A sincere desire coming from a pure heart could not fail to come true, and Catsao was helped by a case...

One chilly winter evening, as Catsao assisted his grandfather in unpacking his camping chest, something as dry as a leaf of papyrus unexpectedly pricked him in the right paw. The first sensation did not deceive Catsao, the dry leaf was an old map that grandfather had brought from one of his travels but had promptly forgotten about upon returning home.

Amidst endless sand dunes and triangular structures, Catsao spotted on the map an image in the shape of a red cross. Grandfather, noticing Catsao's confusion, explained that the endless sand dunes represented the desert, and the triangular structures depicted the Egyptian pyramids. However, he remained silent about the significance of the red cross — an enigma for both of them...
